It was then off to Palenque, also in the Chiapas, to check out the ancient Mayan ruins. ... Really interesting, although we were too poor to afford a tour we managed to move between a few groups to get some free info! Also went on a trip to two waterfalls around the Palenque area, Miso-Ha and Agua Zul which were pretty beautiful and mainly filled with Mexicans, who will only swim fully clothes in shirts and shorts! Pretty funny, and yes the tourists sure stood out. ... Luckily managed to make it back to our cabin in the jungle in our collectivo (shared van for Mexicans) with the driver who seemed to enjoy the challenge of overtaking two buses and a few cars in a row on blind corners and windy roads.It was then off to Palenque, also in the Chiapas, to check out the ancient Mayan ruins. ...
