May 21, 2004 - Tuxtla Guitterez & Sumidero

I can`t say much for Tuxtla Guitterez as it really is just a modern city with everything any city has, but it is the jumping off point for the Sumidero Canyon, which is spectacular. I took a boat trip along the river through the canyon which had sheer walls 1100m high. The sunny day was spectacular and even though I didn`t understand a word of what the guide was saying, I could tell what he was talking about from gestures and ev eryone staring at the walls, or caves or the sheer cliffs.
