Feb 9, 2008 - Getting on the ferry to Mazatlan

Saturday February 9…11:00pm Packed up at Tecolote and drove the 10 minutes to the ferry port at Pichilingue. It was funny because we got the the ferry terminal entrace way right at 10:00am which is when they opened, so got to drive right past all the trucks who had showed up overnight and were parked waiting to get in. We actually didn’t intend on jumping to the front of the line, it just happened that way when we drove in at exactly the right time. We were directed to the scales where we could be measured and weighed. They weren’t...

Feb 4, 2008 - Back at Tecolote

Monday February 4…10:00pm Left the beach at Los Barriles around 9:00am. Glen and Steve had left earlier, so we went to our meeting place at the edge of town so that we could fill up with water and do a quick load of laundry. And so we filled up with water, but the laundromat was closed when we got there. It turned out that the laundry opened just as we were about to leave, so decided to stay and get that done. By the time we got out of there, it was getting close to noon, and this was going to put pressure on getting to the ferry office...

Jan 11, 2008 - Tecolote Beach

Friday January 11...10:40pm Said goodbye to Phillip and Patricia at around 9:30am. We drove about 3 hours to La Paz. Very boring scenery most of the way...flat, with the odd bit of brush and cactus. Twice, we saw where a truck had rolled over going around a corner and lost it's load of tomatoes! Thousands of tomatoes at the side of the road...in two different locations. Steve even went back to one to see if he could salvage any of them, but he thinks he was a couple of days too late. Said it didn't smell very nice. We made it to the big CCC...
