We had a rollicking good sail from Isla Danzante to Agua Verde. The wind was coming from the southwest, mostly on the beam. We do not have a wind meter, but based on reports from Darryl of OverHeated (behind us on their way from Isla Carmen to Agua Verde), the wind was probably 20 knots with gusts to 25. We were going over 6 knots with our jib and mizzen, which is really fast for us. We decided to slow down and dropped the mizzen, and we were still going 5 plus knots, but were more comfortable (less weather helm). We had not seen friends on...

Jun 2, 2005 - San Evaristo to Agua Verde

On June 2nd we made the 9 hour journey from San Evaristo to Agua Verde. We had originally planned to anchor in a place called Los Gatos, but we were making such good time with a 2+ knot current in the San Jose channel that we decided to continue to Agua Verde, where we planned to spend a few days. We arived at 6:45 p.m., so we enjoyed a dinner of leftovers along with our celebratory cocktails (celebrating the successful arrival at a new anchorage).
