Mar 24, 2013 - Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
March 24, 2013 Cabo San Lucas, Mexico We are disappointed that we only have a few hours at this port of call. We arrived at 7 am and sail at about 2 pm. This is a tender port and the last tender back to the ship leaves at 1 pm. We swam with the dolphins today. What a great experience! It was better than I expected. We were in a very large saltwater pool; in groups of 8 people. Each group had a dolphin and trainer. Our dolphin’s name is Aqua, a 26 year old female 550 pounds about 10 feet long. We started out sitting at the edge of the pool...

Jan 12, 2013 - Great News!!! Gil IS FEELING BETTER!!
Gil is feeling SO much better!! So we decided to take a drive up the Baja coast all the way to La Paz. We had a great time. We went to Cabo Pulmo, an ecological marine park, with protected reefs. Then on to El Truinfo, a historic silver mining town, which had a Piano Museum! At one time they had more pianos per capita in the whole country! After that we ventured into La Paz, WAY to big for us, so we chose to hang out at the hotel we rented and just relax for a few days. Before returning to Cabo, we went to another town called Todo Santos...

Dec 30, 2012 - at sea toward Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
12/30 at sea toward Cabo There was a huge, gorgeous red sun this morning & I was up in time to see it along with Jean & Jerry. We had a very relaxing day aboard ship. Pam is a bit better, Jerry is improving, and now Jean is having some food issues. In spite of hand sanitizers all over the ship plus cool settings on the A/C, the germs continue to spread. We attended a variety of sessions, but mostly relaxed. Jim spent the morning playing pinochle with his lady friends. (I don’t know how to spell it or play it.) He enjoys this card game and...

Dec 29, 2012 - at sea toward Cabo
12/29 at sea toward Cabo I heard that the sunrise was gorgeous this morning. Jean & Jerry saw it, but I was a few minutes late. Jim gets up early (6:15 ish) to work out; Jean, Jerry & I get up early to watch the sunrise and to drink coffee! With today being a day at sea, there were a number of sessions to attend. Many of the small group sessions on this trip have been dealing with drawing and writing. Perhaps one could have become an artist or an author during the voyage! I attended the Biology on an Island presentation. It was interesting...

Dec 8, 2012 - Cabo San Lucas
Up early for breakfast and departure of the ship by tender to our first stop since leaving San Francisco. A place called Cabo San Lucas. Electronic swipe for POB (Persons on Board) and we were off in a bus. First stop a free drink at a restaurant and high vantage point for a few photos. Then to another town to look at Spanish influenced early architecture. A wander around the shops, then back to Cabo for our first Taco and Mescilin drink in Mexico, followed by a Margarita. There are a lot of dressed up skeleton dolls. All started in 1901...

Oct 26, 2012 - Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Here we took a scenic tour of Cabo and did some shopping since we had been here several time before. We were amazed however at how much Cabo has grown and the size of the boats in the harbor ... there is sure a lot of money there now. Pictures coming...

Mar 16, 2012 - Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Today we are all up early and down on deck 4 at 7 am ready to catch the first tender away from the ship. Pam & Jack have a vacation home here so they are running the tour today. Our first stop was a hill top restaurant Villa Serena for a Mexican breakfast. The view is of the ocean and the restaurant is open air. I had a shrimp Omlette with fresh & hot flour tortillas and refried beans. The meal was delicious and we were off to San Jose Del Cabo. San Jose Del Cabo is a big artist area and a smaller and quieter community than Cabo San Lucas....

Dec 23, 2011 - Cabo Christmas 2011
Top Notes: - Too many kids at the Hilton, come back here only once you have kids too - Breakfast was great, but they DO add the service charge even if the check they give you has a zero total on it - Bring your own champagne and any Napa wines you want to enjoy (even at Cosco, every wine is double the price of the US) The rooms are nice: Every room has a balcony and we had a nice view over the pool. Note: Even from the 5th floor, you can hear the sounds of the children playing in the water and running around the pool area. This is one of...

Apr 13, 2011 - Cabo san Lucas
Another sea day after Acapulco then on to our last Port of Call Cabo San Lucas. Cabo is a very popular touristy area at the tip of the Baja Peninsular. It’s a very pretty place known mostly for the beaches and water sports. We did a boat trip out to the rock formations at Land’s End which was quite spectacular – beautiful beaches for walking if you are staying in the area, followed by a short scenic drive to a hotel viewpoint. Even thought it was only about 9am we felt we needed the free Corona to quench our thirst. We walked part way back...

Apr 12, 2011 - Cruise Ship Carnival Splendor
Its day three on the Carnival Splendor and one thing I can tell you from the journey so far is that the cruise is to busy to relax. There are that many things to do and it does not stop, the kids are just as busy with the day starting at 10am and scheduled activities until 12pm every day. We have been to the vegas show and the comedy club( the adults one) the kids are going tomorrow night to the family show. We have had our elegant dining night ( the red carpet had nothing on the frocks going in for dinner)The service is top rate. Paul and...

Explore and pick up Todd at airport. His plane was 2 hours late so arr at 5:30 and we had a great reunion. Went to a mall for dinner, ha! Sign of the times in Cabo...the local places were way too expensive! Drive back in the dark brought to mind our unfortunate rollover several years before since the road between Cabo and T.S. is under construction and there are very few lines and little warning as to when the road makes a diversion! Todd drove luckily since his night vision is much better. Arrival at the beach we interupted some kids who...
