Feb 13, 2019 - Tecate Mexico
We got into our travelling groups and drove the few miles to the border crossing. We parked our cars and walked across the border in to the town of Tecate to take care of our paperwork (FFM cards meaning Forma Migratoria Múltiple). This is like a visa which we need if spending more than 72 hours in Mexico. When we got there the line was still pretty long, so our group decided to walk around the town for a while first. We can go into Mexico without the card for the day. There was no line and no problems at all getting into Mexico. We just...Jump to full entry
Apr 1, 2009 - San Quintin & Tatanka's Birthday!
Drove to to San Quintin and picked an out of town place to stay that we found in travel book. Hotel Cielito Linda was out on Bahia Santa Maria. The adjoining restaurant seemed to mainly receive business from the adjoining trailer park of expats. Good happy hour and good food. We walked the beach when we arrived and only saw a few others in the distance. And I have never seen so many sand dollars in one place, literally thousands... I mentioned that it was April Fool's Day and Paul then remembered that it was Tatanka's birthday -...Jump to full entry

Mar 20, 2008 - Wine Country & The Border - Bye-Bye Baja
In the afternoon we drove on to the northeast, leaving Hwy 1 to Tijuana in favour of the safer and, as we were to discover, far more beautiful Guadalupe Valley route to Tecate. This is vineyard country, and the wineries here make little known yet very good wines, the style of which are predominantly Italian. As planned we stayed at Rancho Sordo Mudo. If your Spanish is good then you know that Sordo Mudo means Deaf Mute. This RV Park across the hwy from a residential school ranch for deaf mute children. It has been operated since the 60’s by...Jump to full entry
Feb 9, 2008 - Across the boarder BACK TO THE USA!
We started our day about 40 miles from Tecate, Mexico. It was the usual drive and our directions to the boarder were good. We arrived around 10am and didn't wait long. The US did a quick search of the fridge and off we went back to the US! Tonight we will spend in Brenda, AZ with Bob and MarySue. We will bleach the water system and re-stock. Stay tunned for our SUMMARY PAGE about our Baja experience!Jump to full entry
