Monday, December 23, 2013 We stopped at the Jumal post office and picked up our mail then headed for Mexico. We had an easy crossing at Tecate (where they brew the bear) then took MX2D toll road ($18) to Mexicali. It was an interesting ride climbing to about 1300 Meters with a long winding hill back down. It was a mountain of huge rocks much like Joshua Tree or Alabama Hills. Then south to San Felipe, stopping a couple of times at the military check points so they could look in the camper. When we got to Ron’s at about 5 PM we went with him...

Jan 29, 2013 - Sun, Sand & Hair, Ospreys ??

We saw another sunrise, there are great ones every morning when the skies are clear. The sun sets behind the mountains, so we don't see any sunset behind us. Today, with camera in hand we walked out on the low tide sand bars, 307 yards, Bushnell told us. The water is usually about 6-7 feet deep there when the tide is in, its a wild guess. Then into town the get a Haircut for Patricia. While there i wandered on second street and the Malecon taking photos and talking to all the vender's. We then went to fill our 5 gals of Agua for 8...

Jan 15, 2013 - Leaving USA to San Felipe

Jan 15 - El Centro to San Felipe, Going through customs was a first for us in our RV. It was relatively painless, we got our tourist card,(which everyone needs). then we Drove the outskirts of Mexicali according to our Baja book. The directions are excellent, the roads, well, it is what i expected, you have to lower your standards quite a bit, but normal for Mexico. Arrived at San Felipe about 1 pm or so. I was a bit surprised by the condition of the towns economy, it was greatly affected by the US crash. Atypical of mexican towns, poor...

Meh-hi-co!! Well this bit of the holiday certainly wasn't planned! The random things often turn out to be the best though and this certainly was! We then hopped on a bus called Mexicoach who for 18 bucks round trip would take us as far as Rosarito party central for spring breakers! First stop on the way there was Tijuana about 30mins later.
