Apr 2, 2011 - Ensenada - Pics Need Captions

On way N. we made our annual stop in Catavina to visit the boogums, tall cordons, and my favorite bonsai elephant tree. In Ensenada we finally found Motel Caribe which was affordable but a bit run down...still, it was connected to a three star place with free internet...Bon was there past 2 am, ha!

Dec 2, 2010 - Ensenada, Mexico

We drove from the Sea of Cortez to the Pacific Ocean in about three hours. Now we are in Ensenada. Actually, we are staying across the bay at a place called Punta Banda. We walked around the old part of town and watched the cruise ship come in and then had a young man make bracelets for our Girly-girls, Jasmine and Makayla (we miss them SO much!!). There is so much proverty here, it is very sad. We have hardly seen any other RVers. Right now we are the only ones here in this RV park! We drove to the end of the bay to a place called Bufadora...

Apr 6, 2010 - We're in Mexico

We had decided on somewhat of a later start this am. However, when we got up we found that the RV lot also doubled as the employee parking lot so we were fighting off cars blocking us in as we stood out drinking our coffee. Today we cross into Mexico. We have decided on the Tecate border crossing this time and then head straight south to Ensenada. We crossed the border without incident. The border crossing guard came on board, looked around and then sent us on our way. He directed us towards the immigration office to get our tourist...

Back to Baja 2010.

Feb 20, 2010 - Ensenada Baja

Arrived at our last stop in Mexico yesterday. Drove thru the rain and the RV and car are really really dirty. I think I am going to leave it that way because the forecast is for more rain on drive day Monday. WOW did we get some great movies while whale watching. They are too big to put on the internet right now but I will work on it later.

Nov 17, 2009 - MEX: Ensenada

Jul 17, 2009 - Tour of Ensenada, Baja Mexico

We had a wonderful time on our Mexican tour. We drove to hotel circle in San Diego for the bus to pick us up at the Kings Inn Hotel. They provided free parking and had a lot of space available. Our first stop was the Rosarito Beach Hotel. After seeing this hotel, I can see why all the kids flock there for spring break. It was incredibly beautiful with a huge pool and a gorgeous sandy beach that goes on for miles. Our next stop was for pictures of Fox Studio, this is where the Titanic movie was filmed. I am adding pictures taken from a...

Well, we are supposed to be leaving on Sunday, May 3rd to go on a cruise that starts in San Diego, goes to Catalina Island and then to Ensenada, Mexico for Cinco De Mayo. At this point Carnival Cruises is not canceling the Ensenada stop, so we are not sure what we are going to do. Hopefully it all turns out well.

Feb 26, 2009 - Ensenada

Today was a great day! The temperature was a bit on the low side - in the sixties, with a bit of wind, but we had a great breakfast at the hotel attached to this campground/resort. After breakfast, we were invited to view a private collection of artifacts from Mexican history. The man who owns the campground/hotel/resort gave us the tour. Benjamin is passionate about his countries past, and it shows in his tour. He began collecting artifacts in his 20's (he now appears to be in his eighties), and finally constructed his own museum on the...

Feb 25, 2009 - Travel to Ensenada

The last four days have been basically travel. From Mulege to Guerrero Negro, from there to Catavina, and then to Colonia Vincente Guerrero. The last day was to Ensenada, where we will spend three nights, then back to the states. Same old same old as far as the roads are concerned. Mostly very narrow two lane, with the odd bit of four lane (very odd), and some wider two lane. The road is being upgraded, but very little really big road building equipment means that it will be a fair while - measured in years - til the whole road is finished....

Jan 7, 2009 - Ensenada, Baja Norte

Greetings from Mexico. Today we left USA and drove into Mexico. My biggest worry was getting through the city of Tijuana. It is a large city with a lot of traffic and I was worried about missing the turn and ending up in the small streets of the city with my trailer. Sure enough we did miss the turn and got a little bit lost but we found a traffic circle and went around and got onto a different road that took us to the freeway we were looking for. The Tijuana border crossing is the busiest border crossing in the world. Some 35,000 vehicles...

Oct 5, 2008 - We are in Mexico

Viva Mexico! We are in country – no more fears, no more trepidation, no more cell phone….. This past week has been a mixed bag of issues, solutions, yet to be solved concerns and emotions. Gray and I installed the new salt water pump to cool the engine – you know the one that has been leaking since Bodega Bay 2 months ago. We started the engine and everything appeared to be fine. We also changed the pitch on the propeller to give us more speed while underway. We spent Monday with Gray & Fatima looking around San Diego going to Point Loma...

Sep 20, 2008 - Pizza in Ensenada

Chris & Anne Not a bad travel day today. This is our last nite in Mexico and we are camped about 70km from the US Mexican border. We will be crossing at Tecate tomorrow, and hope to do a little wine tasting on the way to the border. We made the drive from San Quintin to Ensenada, then stopped at Walmart in Ensenada for lunch and some supplies shopping. The gals hopped a cab and went to the market to buy some last minute souveniers, (how many times in this blog have the gals gone to get last minute something…??) Kevin, you would be proud, I...
