Mar 15, 2016 - Ensenada, Baja, Mexico

In Ensenada we had a nice campground. While there we took a bus tour of Ensenada and went out to the blow hole for viewing, lunch and shoping. We got to spend some time in the tourist area and visit such places as Husoongs. The tour of the "Casino" was very nice. It was a first for us, even though we had been there about a dozen times. We had a very nice goodbye Mexico dinner. And the before dinner drinks were two for the price of one. If you ordered a beer and your wife ordered a beer, you each got two beers.

May 15, 2015 - Ensenada

Ensenada is generally not a top tier cruise ship stop, although many cruises end up here because of the Jones Act. Since the early 1900’s, this American law designed to protect the manufacturers of American ships states that foreign ships cannot embark passengers in an American port without going to a foreign port first. Thus, ships that voyage from Los Angeles to Hawaii, have to stop somewhere else before returning to LA. Since Ensenada is only ninety miles from San Diego, it’s a logical stopping off point. The town really blossomed during...

Mar 2, 2014 - Return to Ensenada

We enjoyed watching the whales at Guerrero Negro. There is a big bay where the mothers like to use to have their young. The water is warmer and saltier than the Pacific Ocean. It was especially fun to see mother and child swimming together. On Thursday the 27th, we moved on north and we once again crossed the Baja Peninsula to a beautiful bay on the Sea of Cortez. We camped there on the beach at Bahia de Los Angeles. Like so many of the villages on the Baja it is suffering on hard times. It appears that at some time in the past, tourism was...

Feb 2, 2014 - Day Two Mexico: Ensenada

Day two of our voyage was spent in Ensenada, Mexico. We visited Ensenada before and toured the city, so this time we just went on a shop till we drop tour. :-) As soon as you depart the ship, they have a welcoming committee with beautiful Mexican women and men to greet you dressed in colorful costumes. I am adding a copy of our photo for you to see. We had fun shopping and dealing with the prices, they start very high and when you start to walk away they go really low. I ended up with a beautiful watch signed Geneva for only $10. It is...

Tonight we are parked on the Pacific Ocean at Ensenada Mexico. This is our first night in Mexico on our way to Cobo San Lucas at the southern end of the Baja Pennisula. We are with Fantasy RV Tours for their 37 day "Baja Winter Paradise" tour. So far, so good. This is all new to us - to travel with a large group and trying to get in sync with the program. Hugh has wanted to come this way for a long time but Sally was hesitant to travel by RV in Mexico but this tour group appears to have the means and staf to make our trip save and...

Dec 2, 2010 - Ensenada, Mexico

We drove from the Sea of Cortez to the Pacific Ocean in about three hours. Now we are in Ensenada. Actually, we are staying across the bay at a place called Punta Banda. We walked around the old part of town and watched the cruise ship come in and then had a young man make bracelets for our Girly-girls, Jasmine and Makayla (we miss them SO much!!). There is so much proverty here, it is very sad. We have hardly seen any other RVers. Right now we are the only ones here in this RV park! We drove to the end of the bay to a place called Bufadora...

Apr 6, 2010 - We're in Mexico

We had decided on somewhat of a later start this am. However, when we got up we found that the RV lot also doubled as the employee parking lot so we were fighting off cars blocking us in as we stood out drinking our coffee. Today we cross into Mexico. We have decided on the Tecate border crossing this time and then head straight south to Ensenada. We crossed the border without incident. The border crossing guard came on board, looked around and then sent us on our way. He directed us towards the immigration office to get our tourist...

Back to Baja 2010.

Feb 20, 2010 - Ensenada Baja

Arrived at our last stop in Mexico yesterday. Drove thru the rain and the RV and car are really really dirty. I think I am going to leave it that way because the forecast is for more rain on drive day Monday. WOW did we get some great movies while whale watching. They are too big to put on the internet right now but I will work on it later.

Nov 17, 2009 - MEX: Ensenada

Jul 17, 2009 - Tour of Ensenada, Baja Mexico

We had a wonderful time on our Mexican tour. We drove to hotel circle in San Diego for the bus to pick us up at the Kings Inn Hotel. They provided free parking and had a lot of space available. Our first stop was the Rosarito Beach Hotel. After seeing this hotel, I can see why all the kids flock there for spring break. It was incredibly beautiful with a huge pool and a gorgeous sandy beach that goes on for miles. Our next stop was for pictures of Fox Studio, this is where the Titanic movie was filmed. I am adding pictures taken from a...
