Jan 17, 2017 - Langkawi Beach

Mozzy in room woke me buzzing round my ear, Tim got the bat out but can't find him. Booked sun-beds early Puzzling, reading & swimming day. Subway for lunch (again)! Our 'suite' had a partial 'clean' again, spoke to reception but nothing happened. Yellow Cafe for a pizza between us. Found out one of our Darwin RSL Club coolers has gone walkabout. Grumpy about that and this place! Love Langkawi though.

Jan 16, 2017 - Langkawi - a day on the beach

Went to Duty-Free shop for supplies, took photo of us on the scooter before returning it. 2 sun-beds & parasol on beach RM20 for the day £3.72 A bit out of sorts today but floating in the sea on our backs with eyes closed soon sorted it. (Warm as a bath). Rang Mum. Yellow beach cafe closed so went to the bar without a toilet for a couple then up to our balcony. A gecko fellow to Tim's I-pad then onto the side of a bottle - very funny.

Jan 14, 2017 - Langkawi with Ray Meers

Out on scooter filming more Ray Meers sketches & stocked up with a few ciders which I haven't had for ages! Checked in to Best Star Resort. Didn't like initial room with view over road so upgraded ro a knackered sea-view suite! I'm paying for this one so an extra RM450 £83 for the 5 nights. May get another night which will be Subway again for lunch (being careful with Tim's stomach). Yellow beach cafe for 2 beers & a pizza in evening then sat on balcony. Nice.

Jan 13, 2017 - Sandy Beach Resort, Langkawi

Hired a scooter RM90 £16.56 for 3 days could've had RM30 per day £6.44 Duty-Free shops don't seem all that cheap. Booked up to fly to Cambodia as cheaper than getting boats to Thai Islands. Planning takes ages! Amazing to see the beach fill up with locals (lots muslims) after work time as it's Friday, very busy. Met Julie & Gary from Stevenage, Gary painted The Bell last year! Tim still has bad stomach.

Nov 7, 2016 - Malaysia ... Langkawi Island

After a quick 45 min flight from Kuala Lumpur we arrived on the island of Langkawi on the north west coast of Malaysia. When we were in Malaysia 10 years ago, we didn't come here as it was monsoon season ... well this time around, we are just catching the last bit of the rainy season and have sun showing on the forecast in the next few days. No worries though as its still warm (approx 27-30 degrees) and a bit of rain reminds us of home. Due to the rain, everything is still very green and lush ... with nice long white sandy shell sand...

Jan 27, 2015 - 26th - 28th January 2015

26th - didn't do anything very eventful. Had breakfast at a bread/cake shop. Guy had a piece of pizza and I had a ring doughnut and we had a pot of tea. Very nice. Went to the beach. It was extremely hot; so hot, that we had to drag our beds under the umbrella. At 5ish we went to the Cliff to have a beer in happy hours....their happy hour is from 12 - 6, funny hour but it was nice to have cold draught in a cold glass instead of a can. We booked a table for tomorrow night overlooking the bay. Should be lovely although it's pretty expensive....

Back and changed and for dinner. Just something light today; jippy tum :/ 24th -...

Jan 22, 2015 - Off to Langkawi

This morning started ok. We'd packed more or less the night before ready to be collected at 10:00 am and transported to the ferry terminal about 30 mins away. We were looking forward to sitting on the top deck with our books and sunning ourselves. We got a phone call this morning whilst eating our breakfast at 8:30 to say the pier, NOT the location, had been changed and we were being collected earlier. We were collected at 9:00am in a mini bus, taken into Trang town by the railway station, dumped out of the van and put into a 'car'....

Nov 23, 2014 - Langkawi, Malaysia

Peter checked in from Malaysia and said it was very beautiful - temperature in the low 80's, breezy, palm trees - very much like a rustic Florida. That must have been delightful, after the recent dose of winter he enjoyed in Indianapolis before he left. Things are going well on the ship. This first cruise is a charter for some kind of music business so he did not expect to have any performance duties for a few days. Some big news - he has been promoted! He will be the Assistant Music Director for the ship, beginning as soon as his...

Wouldn't mind, but there's too many for amount of people on the beach! 4:30, happy hour at Yellow Cafe again. Sat inside because it's been so hot all day. Need to cool off.
