Jul 31, 2005 - Skopje MACEDONIA

At 0830 we set off by bus to Sofia. Mountains covered with forests and cultivated valleys until we reached Sofia at midday. By this time we had decided to head on to Skopje if we could and as it happened a bus was leaving in one hours time so off we went again. The border crossing was in the middle of the mountains and relatively quick once again. On arrival at the bus station we tried to change our liva with no luck so ended up in a taxi with two drivers (that should have made us suspicious!) who proceeded firstly to rip us off for our...

Oct 20, 2004 - Kavadarci and Skopje, Macedonia

10-16-04 I made it to Skopje! Although how I got here changed quite a bit from the time I got on the train headed for Skopje and the time I got off, two stops before and an hour outside of Skopje with a man coming home from working in Greece for 5 months to stay with him and his family for a night! There will more to come about the crazy adventure I am in right now, but I need some time to write a travelogue! It has been a crazy journey thus far.
