Salam - Our next stop is a home stay in the village of Kochkor. Good to get a warm shower. And to get a much better idea of the living conditions for a family here. The hospitality is terrific but the food not so much. The next morning we visit a women's cooperative that specializes in felt work and embroidery. The felt work of the Kyrgyz is distinctive. Aug 15, 2008 - Arslanbob via Bazar Korgon

We got an early start at 7 to bus sta but the minibus did not fill til 9 when we headed S. to Arslanbob via Bazaar Korgon(minibus was actually going to Jalal-Abad, third largest Kyrgyz city). It was a very wide, 4-6 lane roadway, lots of traffic, 100's of watermelon 'stands'-actually piles- and 1000's of huge watermelons, melons, and sunflower heads drying.
