Hi all After leaving the Ngorongoro Crater, we headed for Tarangire National Park – another game reserve in Tanzania. This park is famed for its elephants (there are more than 6000 in the park alone). In fact, there were so many elephants there, that we saw at least 100 during the short ride from the entrance into the park to our lodge. The highlights of Tarangire were as follows: • Seeing hundreds of elephants up close, including a baby elephant calf so small it couldn’t use its trunk yet. Nov 21, 2009 - Masai Mara, Kenya

Hi all After leaving Tarangire and waving goodbye to our tour guide Omar and tour group, we left Tanzania and headed for the Masai Mara (by many accounts, the finest wildlife area in Kenya). The Masai Mara National Reserve is really a northern extension of the Serengeti plains and is separated only by the Mara river which runs along the boundary of Kenya / Tanzania.
