helloo!!!!!!! First of all, apologies for the complete lack of communication in the last 6 weeks or so, dodgy African internet cafes dont give much chance to write lengthy blog updates but over the next few days I will try to cover everything I have done in the last 6 weeks. I will date each blog to when it happened so don't be surprised to see a new blog dated a month ago or so. Anyway I have now finally made it to Australia where the weather is absolutely apauling here in Melbourne but atleast it gives me a chance to update this so here...

Mar 12, 2009 - Lake Baringo

Today we drove back across the Rift Valley, which is huge and very deep, so it was a slow drive down to make sure that we didn't burn our brakes out, and then a long climb out again. We crossed the equator - I hadn't realised that we were so close, as it wasn't particularly hot in Nakuru, but it was at a much higher altitude apparently. By the time we got to Lake Baringo we were quite happy to have a cold shower, and I was even more stoked to find the thorn in my jandal that had been stabbing my foot over the last couple of days! No sooner...

Aug 25, 2008 - Lake Baringo

This rare freshwater lake in Kenya's Rift Valley is surounded by mountains and dotted with picturesque islands. Known for it prolific birdlife and the quiet lakeside town of Kampi ya Samaki. Crocodiles and hippos are common place, but the highlight will likely be a boat ride away from shore where if we are lucky we should catch a glimps of a fish eagle or two diving towards us for food offered by our guide.
