Day 13 - Monday 27 May 19 - Ortisei Breakfast in the hotel was our best to date, helped by the option to have eggs cooked to our choice. The orderliness of the hotels organisation was revealed when we sat at a table other than the one dedicated to our room - we were encouraged (warmly and politely) to conform. We had not properly explored the village yesterday and set of via the church of St Ulrich which had an elaborate interior; more so than many others of relative size and location. May 26, 2019 - Day 12 - Ortisei, Italy from Austria

Day 12 - Sunday 26 May 19 - Ortisei, Italy It’s Sunday morning, very quiet, dry but with dark rain clouds sinking onto Innsbruck from the mountains as we complete breakfast and our check out. Today we drive 109 km to Ortisei in Italy. A quick trip on the wrong side of the road and a missed turn before we had even left the city had us wondering whether our day would be “one of those days”. Apr 19, 2016 - Ortisei--Up to the Alpe di Suisi

Yesterday (Tuesday) was a beautiful sunny day to make the trip to the Alpe di Siusi, Europe's largest high-alpine meadow which lies between two of the most famous Dolomite ski-resort valleys. The drive up to 6,500 feet high meadow was again along a narrow, curvy road. At another time of year we might have been going up by cable car, but they are not running during this in-between time.
