ANG: La Festa della Madonna dei Martiri in Molfetta was an affair same same, but different from the last time I came, in 1989. The stalls were still there, but this time the majority were 'manned' by African immigrants and held a similar fair to what we have seen elsewhere, though there still were a few selling lollies, olives, lupini and such. The lights framing the streets and the action were as magnificent as I recall, and still the best I have ever seen, though they did have some trouble getting them all to light up simultaneously....

Mar 28, 2009 - Truely scrumptious

Saturday 28th March. Set off early for the lands of the Trulli! The journey towards Alberobello was lovely with myriads of wild flowers decking the open land between the vines olives and fruit trees. Part of the way we followed a tourist panoramic view route, well worth it. As we crested the hills ten miles from, but down towards the town, thousands of these curiously shaped buildings came into view.
