GUBBIO I just love saying "Gubbio" ... the kid in me! It's a funny name and I'm sure our grandchildren will get a kick out of saying it too. The name comes from a prominent family who also happened to have a bishop in the family. It's claim to fame are some bronze tablets which were written in the 1400s. However, we're here to ride the funicular up to the Cathedral of Saint Ubaldo (patron saint of the town). The funicular was built to increase tourism, which it has certainly accomplished. Sep 13, 2011 - Jack Should Have Had The Steak

We got up a bit late (ok, I got up a bit late).  Scrambled for breakfast.  Sandy made good coffee. Off to Montefalco.  I want to have that lunch again!!  We got there and the dang restaurant is closed!!!  We decide to go to Coccorone for lunch.  This is the famous restaurant in town.  It is off the main street.  They have q reqlly nice outside eating area but it was hot so we ate inside.  They out us right under the A/C which was blowing directly on me.  While it felt great at first it quickly got a bit too frosty.  The waiter recognized...

First I must proclaim that my friend Aimee is one of the most admazing people I know. She is smart, funny, brave and all around unbelievable. Second, we have had 5 of the most admazing women I could imagine. Hopefully friendships that will last a lifetime. Third, I can not believe I ever entertained the thought of not coming on this admazing journey. I think I am dreaming and have found myself in a fairy tale. Sep 5, 2011 - I Have Friends!!!

Jimmy, if you are reading this, your wife's credit card is working. Thanks for the groceries. Lisa & Patrice arrived a little past midnight.  I was waiting to pick them up (and, yes, I showered) when I heard the first raindrop fall just after 11pm.  I jumped in the car immediately so I could get down driveway before the rain came.  I rushed out and the rain never came.  (sorry little olive trees)  Needless to say, I got to the station very early.  Apparently a fair number of men in town hang out and drink at the bar at the station so I...
