Aug 26, 2012 - Fossacesia: Bad Weather and a Good Dinner

SUNDAY: Today started out lovely. I decided to walk the mile and a half to the farthest north beach with $10 euro umbrellas. I thought it was the nicest walk with a little breeze along the shore, instead of the still and humidity. Got my chair, took a swim. Had to jump the waves a little but nothing to soak my head. Had about an hour to enjoy my book. Then the weather went to the dogs. Lots of wind. The owners came running to put the umbrellas down and fold up the chairs. I helped. Aug 25, 2012 - Exploring Fossacesia, Italy

I spent a late afternoon at the beach. Saving my money and skipped renting the umbrella and chair. Earlier in the morning I checked out a nearby hotel/restaurant on higher ground that I thought I could have lunch and connect to the internet. But it was closed. Still, the internet was good so I found a shady spot and started surfing....until a young man and women drove up. I don't know if they had some ownership of the place or just access to a room ;-) but they wanted me to leave. To bad, it was the best spot so far for the internet. The...

Aug 23, 2012 - Fossacesia at the Seaside

Fossacesia is a nice seaside town with several miles of beaches. The beach is full of rocks just like a river bed, but in the water just sand. My apartment is very convenient, just across the street from the beach, but looks just like the JFK housing project in St. Croix. So much concrete that internet doesn't work. Right now I'm at a beach-side cafe where internet does work. The apartment is like a cave with only one window in the front room. I have to put a fan in the hallway at night to blow air into the room or I feel like there isn't...
