July 22, 2011 After loading up our overweight suitcases with Bill and John’s help, we bid them and Aldo fond farewell as they have become like family in 4 short days. Our first destination was Venice where we were to drop Penny at the Hotel Ducale near Marco Polo Airport for her Saturday flight home. After 5 days, we extracted ourselves from Piacenza and headed for Cremona. Julia's knee was still bothering her, so the most direct route was in order. Or more to the point, since we had decent details about our route along the Po River, making no wrong turns was the key. About halfway through, Julia ponders whether her knee will hold out.
