Today we drive up through Tuscany. A little sad to be leaving our apartment. Not quite as rugged as the previous couple of days – much more agricultural. The scenery still stunning. We do two separate drives one from Montepulciano to Montalcino. Then from n Giovanni to Asciano. And finally the Via Chiantigiana, Castelmuovo Berargenga to Impruneta. Jun 17, 2012 - A view of Umbria and Le Marche

Off today to the area of Le Marche and the Adriatic coast. A lovely drive, we reach the beach at Elipidio by lunchtime. Megan and David have a swim – the water apparently quite warm. People everywhere cooking themselves in the sun. Umbrellas everywhere, and like in other parts, they belong to the attached restaurants. We follow the coast for a while but only see the sea in patches so we head inland for our return drive.
