Breakfast of boiled eggs and bread on our terrace to soak up the magnificent views. With improvisation still very much in play, it was liqueur glasses for egg cups. They eggs were farm fresh and delicious. Margaret was set to load her glass with her second egg. Her second egg? Nowhere in sight. 'Have you eaten it?' 'No, see, there is only one shell'. Apr 15, 2013 - Ferry to Monterosso al Mare

This morning we went to Riomaggiore by train. We didn't really get to see much of the village because we went directly to the harbor to catch the ferry. Ferries run regularly between all the villages of the Cinque Terre except Corniglia, as it has no harbor. The water was quite calm, so it was very nice. Seeing the shoreline from the water provides a different perspective. We stayed on the boat right through to Monterossa al Mare, which is the last village along Cinque Terre. Jun 8, 2012 - Cinque Terra. A day trip to a stunning coastline

Today Pete stayed behind to do his own thing. The rest of us started out by car, then took a train to our first village of the Cunque Terra. From there it was a ferry, caught by the skin of our teeth. The ferry called into all but one of the 5 villages clinging to the hillsides, to drop off and pick up passengers. Normally it would stop at all five but a major mud slide last year which meesed up quite a bit of the village and its harbour, that both the walkway between that village and the next, and the ferry stop are unusable.
