Jun 4, 2004 - Rome has lots to look at
We are currently in Rome right now and I have to say, the history here is very impressive and really cool. After getting in we walked down around the Colloseum and the Roman Forum, I thought the Roman Forum was really cool. I think tomorrow or Monday we are going to take an organized tour of the area to get some more information. We haven't gone inside the the colloseum yet, I am really looking forward to that. Today we will probably spend most of our day in Vatican City. We are going to do a tour and then see how much of it we want to go...

Apr 8, 2004 - Florence/Rome
Got up this morning and headed straight to Florence. Skipped the leather demonstration in lieu of getting in line for one of the attractions. Unfortunately the line for the Uffizi Gallery was over two hours long so we decided to go to the Galleria Academia where Michelangelo's David is housed. Waited for an hour but got in and it was completely worth it. We weren't supposed to take pictures but I got in a couple shots nonetheless. Mar 29, 2004 - Roma Day 2.5
We are halfway into our third day in Rome. This is an amazing city. Everywhere you turn, there is something ancient and/or beautiful. We arrived here Saturday morning, after getting up at 5 a.m. to catch a plan from Lamezia Terma. We were met at the airport by a driver named Enzo, who drove v e r y s l o w l y to town, dropped our baggage off at the hotel, then took us to the USO just in time for the 9:15 a.m. walking tour of Rome. We saw the Pantheon, which has a dome whose engineering was not understood until the Renaissance; the Trevi...

Mar 16, 2004 - Roma, Italia
NOTE: WE APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE FOR THE NUMBER OF PICTURES WE HAVE POSTED FOR ROME, BUT IT IS JUST ONE OF THOSE CITIES WHERE ONE CAN NEVER PUT THE CAMERA AWAY. After a relatively uneventful journey from Istanbul to Rome, we arrived at the airport looking forward to this leg of the journey immensely. It was Rome, after all, the place that has been the center of the western world for so, so long. We had heard it was a walking museum, and certainly the drive from the airport proved this; we sat there in the taxi with out mouths wide open as we...
