August 14 - Day 18 Today we had a sleep in, sort of, did not have to get on the bus until 10 am. We are heading now to Italy and the city of Udine, where we will spend the afternoon and evening. The trip to Udine is about 3 1/2 hours. The landscape was beautiful as we passed through the Dolomite Mounttains which is a part of the Alps range. The clouds initially were low and covered up the peaks, but as the day went on the clouds lifted and we had some wonderful views , which were very similar to the drive to Banff. Apr 11, 2011 - wifi - Udine and Cividale

We all slept in this morning. The beds were super comfortable, pumped up pillows and extra plush doonas. Orson and Audrey both slept till nearly 8 o’clock. I decided to jog up to Stregna which isn’t that far but is straight up a winding hill. It was a great view but possibly life threstening if more than one car passed by at once. Apr 20, 2009 - Udine

Sunday 19th April. Just an afterthought, the villa Pisano was the place that Mussolini and Hitler first met! Back to the present and left hotel Bristol this morning leaving several hardy Germans out by the pool catching the watery sun. It would not have lasted as it started to rain as we left the town. We took a leisurely drive along the coast to an old Roman regional centre and port which was one of the largest in Italy.
