We drove the amazing Ring of Kerry today. We only had time for a small part of it, we were wishing we had more days in Ireland to drive the rest of it. This is one incredibly beautiful country. As part of the Wild Atlantic Way, the Ring of Kerry (or Iveragh Peninsula to give it its correct name) is the Kerry tourist trail - the mystical & unspoiled region of Ireland that has attracted visitors for hundreds of years. Oct 28, 2013 - A place close to Heaven

Today we are doing the Ring of Kerry: every time I hear that I think of "Ring of Fire". I'm not sure why, fire would have been almost impossible during our trip. Gale force winds (at one stage they were rocking our bus while we were parked!) and squally showers prevented any possibility of ignition. Nevertheless the climate only added to the beauty of the place. When the clouds cleared, the wet rocks really sparkled in the sun.
