This morning we meet downstairs in our hotel for a talk on the Irish economy. A local expert tells us about how Ireland has grown in the past few years. I didn't realize how much until we actually saw the city and got into the countryside. Ireland now has 4.2 million people. The number increased in 2006 by 70,000. 50% of the population is under age 45. Sep 25, 2007 - Chester UK to Dublin Ireland

This was a day to remember and a time to forget. We boarded the bus in Chester and began the drive along the northern coast of Wales. The weather is on and off light rain this morning. We see rolling hills, green pastures, and numerous sheep. Near Conwy the terrain is more mountainous, and we pass through several tunnels. The mountains in this area have been quarried for building stone. To the north we catch glimpses of Conwy bay. As soon as we are past Conwy, we are again in farm and sheep country. Sep 11, 2007 - A tale of survival and escape to the Wicklow Hills

Thursday, 6 September. We made it! We survived! Angela and I slept the sleep of the righteous and didn't hear a thing - unless Angela heard my snoring. Marie, on the other hand, had to cope in a room on her own, one floor down from us. She took normal anti-ghost precautions such as barring the door, which seemed to keep the ghosts out - but didn't stop the faint sound of eerie medieval music.
