@@@@@@@ Background The Mizen Head Signal Station is located in a lighthouse, reached by a bridge from the parking lot on land located at the most southwesterly point in Ireland. It was built over one hundred years ago to warn ships off the rocks, which are everywhere in the region below the cliffs. The signal station was automated in 1993, but there are displays to show how the keepers once lived and how the station worked.
