Iranian traffic has a level of lawlessness that skirts the line of chaos but has the discarded (in western countries) merit of allowing people to exercise their own judgement. In this regard driving in Iran is an interesting social experience where the normal culturally governed behaviour of politeness and courtesy is abandoned in favour of an insane head-on (literally) competition for THAT gap.
