Nov 12, 2008 - No more Nemo part 2

Today was a complete write-off obviously. Em was still being sick and stuff and I was now suffering after my manservant heroics during the night. I managed to drag myself out to get some food but Em couldn't move so I lovingly brought her a pizza back from the restaurant. Which she didn't eat (She must be ill!). See how we feel tomorrow. :OI

Nov 11, 2008 - Something fishy......

I went for a morning surf today. Em got herself ready. When I got back Em was just about done so we went awandering around town again. In the afternoon we headed on back to the hotel for an afternoon swim (Come on man we have 2 pools - both with bars! - and Em's never been to a pool bar before!). I only had 2 beers and Em only had juice (honest) as we got talking to a nice Aussie chap and a couple of Aussie grannies (who have been coming to this hotel for 8 years!) from Perth. All that talking (and listening!) made Em hungry and she decided...

Nov 10, 2008 - Hungover and hungout around the pool ( and a bit of surfy surf)

Hey guess what? We were really hungover today!! Yeahhhhhhhhhh Being hardcore I got up early (ok about midday!) for some Bali surf action. Em guarded the bed. When I got back battered and bruised a couple of hours later Em carried me down to the pool and we hung out there for a bit......and introduced ourselves to the pool barman who gave us our free welcome drinks. I went for another surf in the evening and then we went and got some hangover food from our Mcfriend before flaking out infront of the TV at a sensible hour. :)

The A&E Adventure

Nov 9, 2008 - 1st day in Kuta - Bali

We woke up just in time for our free breakfast today. After this we went for a wander around town. Lots of bars and surf shops funnily enough. It looks cool, a bit cheesy, but should be fun anyway. After this we went and had a look at the beach. It looks really cool with lots of surf board action and beerage (if required). We were quite hungy by this point so I put surfing off until tomorrow so we could go and get some fud and have a drink somewhere. We found an alright restaurant to get some food, had a mooch around some more surf shops,...

Apr 21, 2008 - Kuala Lumpur to Bali

After a few treats last night (which I’m allergic too – BAD choice) I wasn’t feeling very well when I work up this morning, but I knew I needed a big breakfast to get me going for the day. A delicious buffet breakfast was a waiting us. We caught the MRT to Chinatown and spent the morning shopping. Back to the hotel to enjoy a cup of tea and pack up for our final trip destination! At the airport I ran into two of my friends from exchange – Kevin and Anselmo. It turns out they were on our flight and heading to Bali with us! It was a fun...

Mar 3, 2008 - From the Beaches of Bali

So I liked about Malaysia...apparently, that's later! Who can keep up? We've arrived in Bali...um...not exactly what we expected... First, to finish our thoughts on Singapore: - very friendly country...easy to travel as English is widely spoken - Internet EVERYWHERE! At the airport, it's free...there are computer stations at every terminal and gate. - their airport is gorgeous...orchid gardens with the biggest fish I've ever seen! Bali's airport isn't so nice. But our car rental guy was there and waiting, so that worked out :-) Now..our...

Jan 31, 2008 - Beautiful Bali

We Flew from Christchurch into Melbourne and then had to transfer to another flight to take us to Bali. About 8 hours flight time in total. Flying is proving a really good way to catch up on new movie releases. We arrived at 10pm, collected our bags and headed out, only to be met by a hotel representative holding a printed sign reading 'MR STEPHEN SIMMS'. This was to be the first of many occasions in which we were made to feel really important during our week in Bali. We had found a bargin hotel called Tamukami in Sanur, costing twenty...

Jan 30, 2008 - Kuala Lumpur to Bali

Had a one hour taxi ride to reach the airport from downtown Kuala Lumpur-didn't realize we were so far away. We arrived in the Bali airport and went immediately to the ATM and took out a cool 2 million in cash for our visit in Bali. Paid the taxi $50,000 so it is going fast! Then had a fish dinner for 38,000 each. Things are unbelievable cheap here. Should be fun! Happy with our hotel here. Lush landscaping-two pools, bar in the pool, restaurant overlooking the beach and air conditioning(thank goodness).

Jan 14, 2008 - On to Bali

Our last day in Yogya was another slightly disappointing and annoying adventure. We started out for the walled city, called the Kraton, to see the sultan's palace - high on the guidebook list of things to do. We had learned to avoid the first palace, which is attached to the main palace and much drabber and smaller, by going to scout it two days before, and being enticed toward the smaller one by several touts (apparently the planned to get us inside, then after we were disappointed, take us to a "government art exhibition." So we bypassed...

Jul 15, 2007 - INDONESIA - Bali

Arrived in Bali and decided to spend my first night in Kuta - mainly because it was so close to the airport and I arrived so late at night. It`s Bali`s biggest tourist resort, very popular with Australians and was especially packed due to it being school holidays in Oz at the moment! I hated it at first - too many people and scooters and very noisy - loads of bars and clubs everywhere - just like being somewhere on the Costa del Sol or somewhere! Had originally planned to move to one of the quieter beach resorts like Legian or Seminyak...
