A misty morning greets us as the sun tries to break through the valley opposite our villa. We drift across for the familiar breakfast, today supplemented with a form of Indian pancake, delicious. A trip to Sims Park, as the name suggests, a relic of British occupation. Now an arboretum with winding paths, steps, streams and a boating lake full of fat hungry carp. Dec 5, 2011 - Coimbature

Time is moving on and we have a train to catch. A brief visit to the foot of the Fort Mount and a quick snack before going to the station. Our local agent reappears, disappears and returns with our seat numbers. The carriage is 6 seats across, recliners, and we collapse into our allocated ones. The journey is long and largely a mystery. Windows so dark, no public announcements you could be anywhere. Fortunately I had ascertained our destination was a terminus, so just sit and wait and wait and.... There are lots of other interesting places to visit in Coimbatore - like Botanical Garden, Kovai kuttralam (Waterfall),Perur, Eechanari, Siruvani dam and lots more. Apr 9, 2010 - Eat Out & Shop Till The Day Lasts!!!

Today was a totally fun filled day for us. Gifts from our Paternal grandparents was done. Now, to go with for purchases with my Maternal Grandparents. Morning around 10.00 am we went to Big Bazar. Shopping, shopping and more shopping. We purchased new school bags, stationaries etc. Back to school kits!! We drank sugarcane juice, ate in Anandas. By this time my other grandparents also joined. In the evening we ate in Aaryas, drank tender coconut... WOWOW!! The day went so fast - shopping and eating is what we did all day

Apr 8, 2010 - Lucky To Have Many Relatives

Waking up with the fragrance spread by the blooming flowers in SUKI'S VILLA, I have to tell that we are very very lucky kids, to have lots of loving relatives around us. Both many of my father's and mother's cousins live in Coimbatore. All of them wanting to have us make us feel more lucky. Both grandparents were on their toes taking us around everybody's houses. We enjoyed the hospitality of all my uncles, aunties, cousins other grandma's and grandpa's. Came back home, tired. But the day was too good memory to cherish. BONDING

Apr 7, 2010 - Visit To V.O.C Park Zoo Nehru Stadium with Uncle

My Grandmother woke us up with her inviting variety tiffin items like iddli, uthappam, paniyaram, aapam along with sambar, coconut chutteny & tomato chutteny!! Since i like to eat tiffin varities, she would make me such special items! I really enjoyed! Morning hours we were again in the routine of terrace bath & playing!! We called the neighbour's dog CEASER and even fed buiscuts. In the evening once the gentle cool breeze started, my uncle took us out in his bike. It was a nice long ride which i really enjoyed. Today it was our turn to be with our maternal grandparents On our entry to house, my grandparents gifted us with 2 name plates SUKLESH SUKITHA which can be stuck to our room doors in Bangalore.It was Great! Our grandpa had purchased a new Santro. The best part is,at this 70yrs, he had started learning driving. We were excited to have the first ride in the new car. Apr 5, 2010 - SHOPPING MENIA

We were woken up today by the call of 2 cows which had come home, where my grandparents do daily pooja for them. We too joined them, by touching the cow, feeding with rice& banana. Later that day, my grandparents took us to Gandhipuram by an auto, where central busstand is situated. Lot of shopping malls have come around. Apr 4, 2010 - Day With My Paternal Grandparents

We arrived Coimbatore junction around 6.00 am. Hiring a taxi we reached our paternal grandparent’s house. It is a huge, wonderful bungalow with a very beautiful garden maintained by my grandparents with lot of banana trees, chikoo, amla and many flowering plants. We lazed around looking at them, having nice hot milk, enjoying the beauty of PEACOCKS which regularly visits the nearby fields. Apr 3, 2010 - The Big Day Arrived

Finally the big day arrived!! It was the day we had to leave to Coimbatore. The first time we are going to stay without our parents!! Our train was 1013 Kurla – Coimbatore Express at 11.00 pm. Sukitha and me started packing our luggage’s – dresses, perfume, few toys to keep us engaged, TINKLE books and of course- CAMERA which my uncle had gifted from USA. Feb 20, 2010 - Some Have Left India

It is hard for us to believe that our time in India is now over. We had a great, relaxing two days at Kovalam Beach. Now each of us are on our own. Jen and Nichole have left India, and will be home in South Lake Tahoe and Reno Saturday night. Patrick will be in India for another week, visiting his company's office in Bangalore. Brenda is staying in India for a month and will be visiting some Ayurvedic hospitals and doing some "tourist" travel and some yoga related visits. Sunday was the day of our final presentation to Rotarians in District 3201. As is normal for a GSE team’s final presentation at the District Conference, we finished working on the presentation around midnight. We had decided to do the presentation with a baseball theme.
