Nov 24, 2005 - Day 10. Rajgir/Nalanda

After four lovely days in Bodhgaya we went by bus to Rajgir which has the ruins from an ancient city from the time of the Buddha. The city was built by King Bimbasara who joined the Buddha's sangha, gave his son the kingdom and then was killed by his son (As history has it, Bimbasara's son died by his own son's hand as well). We walked amidst the 2500 year old city walls and decaying buildings, meditated in Ananda's (Buddha's main assistant) cave and climbed Vulture Peak.
