After partying with the best of them, we still managed to rise two hours before the sun, heading off by first night at 11 am. The big decision was what to do on a day when the entire country was closed. We had already resigned ourselves that after August the only way to see a Puffin was on a dinner plate after ordering Lundi. We decided on the “Golden Circle”, cited as the must do in the area. A New Day in Iceland

Dec 31, 2008 - Lights, Fire and Anarchy

After a few hours repose, we decided to travel to one of the ten Brennas (bonfires) through out the city. We had a lead on two. The hotel concierge provided a general hint by circling two neighborhoods on our city map. We decided to choose the circle with the fewest roads inside its radius. Our quest brought us around the Faxafloi, to the community of Alftanes. The Brenna was magnificent.
