It seems there is no way around the hiccups that come with traveling. It doesn't matter how organized you think you are. There are enough extraneous circumstances; the hiccup may not even be your fault. And all of the planes, trains, buses, ferries, trams, etc. that require catching, a success rate of 100% is virtually impossible. But I'd like to think I am in the 95th percentile. The Greek island ferry system is my nemesis. We had talked to various people, natives of the island, and the consensus was ferries leave at 7:00 a.m. and 3:30...

Aug 1, 2005 - Serifos, Greece

Monday, August 1. Livadi town, Serifos. From Kythnos, we motored to Livadi town on the island of Serifos. We again performed a Mediterranean mooring, but this time we pushed boats aside to make room for our boat. Aspa and Ben suggested dinner in the town of Hora. Hora clings to a crag above Livadi and is one of the most striking of Cycladic capitals. We were joined by Artemis and Vaseliki, who Jeff met on the bus ride up. After dinner, we hiked to the peak for a fabulous view of the harbor below.
