Jul 23, 2006 - Yiassou from Santorini!!

We've been very busy since our last entry in Cesky Krumlov, at one point covering four countries in five days! We spent two nights in Cesky Krumlov and it was a beautiful little place. Things were cheaper there than in Prague and we ate at least three hearty meals a day! We travelled from Cesky to Vienna where we stayed for one night. We got in late on a Sunday night and left first thing Monday morning so the only thing we got to see in Vienna was the local McDonalds! On Monday afternoon we arrived in Munich where we finished Busabout....

Jul 18, 2006 - Ios

The ferry ride this time was a little longer, 6hrs, luckily there we're no hangovers. I was impossible to escape the heat once again but we managed to deal with it. Arriving at our accommodation we were a little shocked at the "bungalow" we had prebooked. We basically got a wooden sided tent with a canvas room and of course it was at the top of the steep driveway. The only way we were thinking about sleep tonight was if we were having a couple of drinks - The bed Erin slept on was contaminated with bed bugs! Ew!! A busabout dinner and bar...

Jun 13, 2006 - Relaxing Santorini

Just a quick hello from Santorini, I've spent the last few days relaxing on the beach reading my cheesy beach romance novel...no,no its not Sophia Kinsella I've found another great lazy read...just as good though! This morning I woke up early and hiked up the cliff which is about 10 minutes away from my hostel and goes into ancient Thira...it overlooks all of Santorini which is gorgeous...on the way down I passed by an old Greek guy and his five donkeys trekking up the hill...too bad I didn't have my camera! Last night I took the bus into...

May 18, 2006 - Ios

As soon as we dumped our bags in our room in Ios, the rain started coming down and heavy to. We made a run for it to a restaurant & arrived looking like drowned rats. The next morning we started the day our by now usual way & found a bakery for b'fast. After a short walk around we noticed it was like a ghost town, so quiet. We headed for the beach of Myolopotas for the day and stayed until almost sundown. During the day we hired kayaks and paddled around into the surrounding bays and Phil hired a windsurfer. It was the first time he had...

Jun 18, 2005 - Nuggets and Ios

Since we woke up, paid a random dude to drive us to the port at breakneck speed in a van probably that looked like it was a getaway vehicle, it turned out that the ferry was canceled. At least we still had time to reflect on some of the deeper thoughts of this trip so far... Sasha: This one [Parthenon] is so much better than the one is Nashville. Sasha: I think that manican just turned me on. Ben: I kind of want to take this label with me, its Jose Cuervo ... in Greek. Sasha: I love live music...My mom took me to a Cilion Dion concert and I...

Hello dear friends and family! I am writing from Esna Egypt (Thursday June 30), not a highlight stop in Egypt but we are on a Nile Cruise and have parked here for the afternoon so we ventured to find an internet cafe in town, interesting place to say the least. We have not been able to catch you up due to logistics of nt having enough time to access to internet since our time and Greece, not to mention we are having a BALL! FRIDAY JUNE 17: We departed for Santorini from Greece on our 8 hour ferry at 7am and arrived on the island at 4pm, we...

Apr 14, 2005 - Hora (Ios)

We went into the town center and had breakfast and just chilled out till we cought a taxi down to the port. A couple of hours down at the port and our ferry turns up to take us to the "party capital of the islands" The ferry ride is only 1 hour long and we are there (my first impression was wow this is small). 7 people hoped off the ferry (which had about 500 on it) are we at the right place? Another Island where we had no where to stay and sure enough another offer to stay in someones hotel this time for 20 euros a night (bargan). We...
