So we went off to the computer and found some cheap flights into Dusseldorf Germany. ... At first i had all these fancy plans spending our first night in Dusseldorf, then going to see a castle an hour away, taking a night train to Berlin, staying with Amy’s friend for one night in Berlin, then taking a train to Hannover and couch surfing there (i actually found a gay couple we were going to stay with which would have been fun) going to Amsterdam for a night, then taking the night train back to Dusseldorf to catch our flight. ... So we got up ridiculously early to get a taxi, to get a bus, to get an airplane, to get a shuttle bus, to get a train, to get a tram, to get to Dusseldorf lol. ... So we found a car going from Dusseldorf to Berlin the next day for 20 euro, which for that distance is an amazing price. ... i would have been disastrously lost without her) we made it back, said goodbye to Des and got in our car share back to Dusseldorf. ...

Whew - back in Dusseldorf on 9-1-09 to return the rental car (after 2,803 km, no dents, scrapes, tickets or accidents). ... They had all different kinds of mustard, made only in Dusseldorf - cranberry, hot chili, fig, curry, apricot, etc. ... Update from Freiburg about our trip to Triburg (about 1/2 hour away by car) and the Black Forest! we enjoyed some nature today by climbing up to not quite the top, but a good ways up the waterfall in the twon of Triburg. Just to recap our travels thus far: Germany: Dusseldorf, Munich, Freiburg, Triburg (Black Forest) Austria: Zell Am See Italy: Arabba (near Cortina), Kaltern (Lake Caldara) Switzerland: St. ... After then, Belgium and Holland before returning to Dusseldorf. ... Today is our last day in Dusseldorf. ... Tomorrow we are heading to Munich in hopes of finding the sun! It has not shown since we have been here and today it rained the entire day!!! Hello! Greg and I made it to Germany just fine. Dusseldorf played Paderborn and Dusseldorf has been doing reallz well lately, moving up in the leagues. ... Beer is about 2-3 dollars and water, yes water, is 5-6 dollars, for sparkling or flat - and no free refills! Today we went to downtown Dusseldorf/the old town, where we just shopped around and people watched. ...
