Grainau, a small village nestled in the Bavarian Alps, near Garmisch-Partenkirchen, is immersed picture perfect scenery. Zupgspitze, the tallest peak in Germany at almost 3000 mts, stands tall overlooking Grainau. We took a cable car up the mountain, with breathtaking views along the way. The views from the top of the mountain were unearthly. Snow capped mountains glowing in the sun extended far into the horizon. Though it was not cold at the mountain foot, the peak was freezing.
