Sep 24, 2017 - Frankfurt & Rhine River

Our trip started as we flew into one the busiest airport hubs in the world. Frankfurt is considered a financial center in Europe today, and a global hub for commerce, culture, education, tourism and transportation. Situated on the Main River, the Frankfurt skyline is dotted with many high-rise buildings. The city was heavily bombed during WW2, and the sight of several days of intense fighting. After WW2, Frankfurt became part of the America Zone of Occupation, and became the capital of the newly founded Western Germany. Historically,...

Sep 12, 2012 - Frankfurt, Germany - Final day home to Edmonton

Wednesday, September 12 Today was my day to fly home ... a very long day indeed. We left at 7 AM to head back to the Berlin airport. Normally, it should have only taken about an hour, but we got caught in traffic and didn't arrive until about 8:20. My flight was leaving at 8:55, so things got a bit tight. We didn't start out at the right terminal as it wasn't marked on my ticket. Sep 2, 2009 - Arrival in Glamsbjerg

I have arrived in Glamsbjrg at 13:00 today - My brother and sister in laws' home on the island of Fyn close to Odense. The flights went well - all of them were on time and suitcase arrived me in Hamburg. It took me exactly three hours to drive from Hamburg Airport to Glamsbjerd (South Fyn) in my rented small Mercedes Benz - it runs well. The First Class on the Lufthansa flight was very enjoyable and sitting upstairs with lots of room on Boieng 747 is sheer luxury. One tends to eat too much on thse flights with their gourmet meals. will add...

Mar 16, 2008 - Flight to Frankfurt Germany

The flight from Chicago to Frankfurt took about 8 hours; we left at 8:20 p.m. Chicago time and arrived in Frankfurt around 10:00 a.m. German/French time ( a time difference of 6 hours) exhausted; I personally got around 3 hours of sleep - the coach class seats were typical and not very condusive to sleep. The food on the flight was surprisingly good; it was traditional indian food. We also thought the flight attendants were much more courteous and attentive than those on a typical U.S. flight.
