Jul 16, 2013 - Our first drive along the Bodensee and the town of Meersburg.

The weather was just gorgeous. Must be summer! Today was our first exploration of the Bodensee or Lake Constance. The lake acts as the southwest border between Germany and Switzerland and has a circumference of 273km. The lake was crystal blue. Our first stop was the lakeside town of Uberlingen where we enjoyed our first stroll along the town’s lakeside promenade. Daisy was fascinated by birds and the movement of the water caused by the many lake ferries that crisscross the lake. After coffee we drove further on and sighted sitting high...

Jul 14, 2013 - Move to Stockach near Bodensee or Lake Constance.

Today we travelled through the Black Forest on the 31 to Stockach near the Bodensee or Lake Constance. There was no problem with the road except the amount of traffic. We arrived and found the stellplatz next to a campground. Being next to campground we can at least get our laundry done sometime over the next few days but again no Wi-Fi.

Aug 25, 2010 - The Bodensee

The Bodensee, or Lake Constance as I think it used to be known, is a massive lake made out of a bulge in the river Rhine. It's bordered by Germany, Switzerland and Austria and the lake is owned by all three. The area around the lake is very fertile, and we found a lovely little site in a town called Salem, nestling amongst apple orchards and vineyards. We got lucky with the weather again here, and spent a lovely couple of days enjoying the weather and the wonderful countryside, and plavvin' a few apples. We did probably go a bit overboard...
