May 4, 2016 - To Maichengen

Woke up to another beautiful sunny day, and a wonderful breakfast prepared by our hosts. After breakfast we visited the Coburg Fortress, the city’s landmark built on the hill overlooking the town. Some great views of the surrounding district from up here. So after the fortress visit, it was back to pack our bags into our car to finish this too short part of our journey. May 6, 2014 - Bucharest to Stuttgart (Maichingen)

At midday caught our ride to the airport. Checked in and had some lunch. Bucharest airport is not too big but still managed to get some duty free alcohol. Not sure if we will get it through the transfer at Berlin though. About a two hour flight from Bucharest to Berlin. Had to go through passport check here and then reenter the bording area. Sure enough they wanted to check the bottle of alcohol we had, even though it was sealed in the duty free bag. So today we drive into Germany for the next part of our journey. We are driving to a place called Maichingen which is close to Stuttgart, to meet my cousin Gertrud for the first time. Gertrud and I first had contact with each other about 15 months ago through our family tree research, and have been in contact ever since.
