Saturday I set off from Murten on another lovely day. First I went nearby to Avenches, a small town sitting on the remains of the Roman capitol of the area. The sites were low key and free. First I stopped at the amphitheater, which retains its first level of seating and walls. The floor of the arena was set up with modern chairs and a stage, so I expect there was going to be a concert. Jul 7, 2007 - Freiburg im Breisgau and Titisee in Germany

Today we went in search of Hansel and Gretel in the Black Forest.........we first took a train to Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. Enroute, we passed numerous vineyards and there were grapevines as far as the eye could see......we used to think the Okanagan Valley had a lot of grapes.......we got off the train in Freiburg and discovered that we still had a ways to go before we were actually in the Black Forest so we wandered around the town for a bit, saw some sights and did some shopping and had to have some black forest cake, seeing as how...
