This anchorage is notoriously bad holding and many boats drag their anchor. The wind blows down the canyon on a daily basis, sometimes at ~50 knots, the bottom is all shale/rock, and the anchorage depth is between 15 and 250 feet. We anchored in 20 feet of water with 150 feet of chain and two anchors... but still dragged. Even so, this is one of those places on Earth that you simply can not miss. The views are breathtaking. It was like being anchored in the middle of Yosemite Valley. We mainly relaxed on the boat and looked at the scenary....
