After an ocean passage half-way across the Pacific, I was expecting a little more solitude and desolation, but we arrived at this anchorage at the same time as the World Arc Rally, so there were ~25 other boats here in this tiny bay. The town, Atuona, is the second largest town in the Marquesas and has a population of about 1,200 people. ... We have successfully completed the major crossing of the Pacific Ocean… Mazatlan to the Marquesas. However, it was the constant grey during this last week that I hope not to see again for a while! Eventually though, we finally made landfall and arrived safely at Tahauku Bay, near Atuona. ...
