Feb 19, 2011 - Ski Holiday - Val D'Isere
Barely 6 weeks into 2011, and the kids get another 2 week school holiday. We headed up to check out Val D'Isere in the Alps. This famous French ski resort (part of L'Espace Killy) is near Albertville and hosted the winter Olympics in 1992. We had a wonderful week, with lots of skiing and snowboarding. James and his fiance Paola came and joined us for a few days which was great. On the second last day, we all took some lessons. May 2, 2009 - Valley Of Desire (val D'isere)
This place sure is valley of Desire. I have wanted to attach so many photos of our trip, and so many of you checking in to read our site, and send messages thanks to all of you!! Sorry I cannot send individual messages, cos when we do get wi fi access, and when we do get the free time to do it, it is pretty limited...like now we have just got in from a huge day and is now after 11pm and we are all sleeping in a very crammed room in annecy....about the photos, we need to decrease the size of our photo files to put them on to this system from...

Apr 30, 2009 - Val D'Isere
We changed apartments this morning and got a 2 room place, then hit the slopes after hiring gear etc. Oh my gosh this place is heaven..the best skiing in the world. We did so many runs. can you believe we went to bed in the snow last night and woke up to fresh powder on the trails and the sun shining!! The best skiing ever, we are exhausted!! The girls and I ended up missing the last gondola home and had to ski right down to the village and get a bus back to val village. Had chicken in our unit and were all in bed early

Apr 29, 2009 - Epernay to Val D'Isere
Got on the road pretty early, picked up some croissants and hit the road for 3 hours to get to Mersault. we stopped in the village in Burgundy in Chardonnay country where Geoff and Anna lived. we saw the school where the boys went to and grabbed some lunch and headed off. we got food in Beaune and drove on 4 hours to Val D'isere. As we came into Tignes area, it was magic, it was snowing.
