Picked up the car at Geneva Airport, no problems there and we are now happy tourists in our Peugoet 407 Diesel SW. Most cars in France seem to be Diesel (Gazol in French) I have been reliably informed 80% plus run on this. As you would expect very economical and with Diesel 1.00 Euro a litre this is not an outraegeous expense. Annecy was a nightmare to drive into. May 22, 2004 - Annecy & the Alps

Saturday 22 May 2004. Very sadly we are coming to the end of our time in Annecy in the French Alps. Annecy is an absolutely gorgeous town on the large Lac d'Annecy, surrounded by the towering Alps. Annecy is called "little Venice" as there are a couple of canals flowing through town. This is one of the most gorgeous places we have ever visited and we highly recommend it to all.
