It's Sunday morning, the church bells are ringing in the distance across the Rhone in Eloise. I'm enjoying my cafe and croissant on the terrace in the morning sunshine. The weather has been lovely the last few days. Sunny and warm, in the 80's. Today it is going to get warmer . . . into the 90's by tomorrow, when we have to travel south to Provence. It's a warm, lazy day at Lydia's, Marbie is giving Giuliana a massage, I'm working on my needlepoint. As the day goes by, we all decide to make a light lunch as we had a very light breakfast. We...

Jun 13, 2009 - Gresin

Today is a day of relaxation. Martha has gone off to fetch her friend Giuliana, who has come from Perugia, Italy to spend the weekend with us at Lydia's. I've chosen to get my hands dirty in the French soil and am helping Lydia in her garden. After dead-heading many rose bushes and annual flowers, drowning aphids in soapy water, I decide to pick raspberries and cherries for tomorrow’s breakfast. Jun 12, 2009 - Coming over to Grésin

We start the day with packing our bags for the next leg of our trip. It's funny how nothing fits back into the suitcases like it did when we left the U.S, and we haven't even purchased anything, we have emptied our luggage of a few gifts we had brought over and that's it.. . . Can't figure it out. Went to the market to purchase food to take to Lydia's house in the French countryside, 30 minutes outside of Geneva.
