During our morning coffee and croissant at La Sirmonde, the local morning spot, we discuss what to do today, as we are running out of markets, in fact we are getting a little bored with Provence. It’s getting late so we head back to Roussillon for our 8:00 reservations at The Hotel Le Clos De La Glycine's gourmet Restaurant David. ... We walk over to the restaurant which sits on a bluff overlooking the beautiful cliffs of Roussillon and the countryside. ... We're not quite sure about changing our usual diet of Bistro fare, but are willing to experience something new in fine dining.During our morning coffee and croissant at La Sirmonde, the local morning spot, we discuss what to do today, as we are running out of markets, in fact we are getting a little bored with Provence. It's very windy today, there's a lot of dust in the air with the Mistrals, I'm hoping it's only the weather change that has made her feel bad. It's very windy (the Mistrals) this morning and cool. Next Day, Maree and Todd were coming over by train from Viareggio and I got a call from Ventimiglia – the trains were on strike (nothing unusual really) so I leapt into the car and picked them up (much faster than waiting for the next available train), a quick cuppa and we all piled back into the car to head for La Ciotat to play with Kieron and Anjali for the weekend. ... We spent most of the first day walking every square inch of the little town ship of La Ciotat and back to the unit and the next day we all piled into the car to take a look at Cassis and Les Calanques (these are like fingers or fjords). ... All too soon we had to return to Antibes as I was on standby for the handover of the new boat.Next Day, Maree and Todd were coming over by train from Viareggio and I got a call from Ventimiglia – the trains were on strike (nothing unusual really) so I leapt into the car and picked them up (much faster than waiting for the next available train), a quick cuppa and we all piled back into the car to head for La Ciotat to play with Kieron and Anjali for the weekend. ... Like I mentioned at the end of the Cinque Terre blog, getting to Nice, France was interesting and a adventure. ... When we went to information in Cinque Terre and asked for a reservation to get to Nice, we were surprised how helpful the lady was. ... We ended up going the wrong way, missing what we thought was the last train of the day to Nice and of in some little crap town where nobody anywhere spoke a word of English and unlike any other country Italy doesn’t give you itinerary’s of the train journeys so you know where you are and where you are going. ... We arrived in Nice after midnight and immediately felt this rush of calm hit us, the people in France were so helpful and friendly during our last lag of the journey, the trains were even nicer. ...
