Today is all about lounging! We all slept in this morning and woke up to gorgeous weather. I went down the hill to the bakery and the supermarket for supplies for the day and just loved getting the freshly baked, still-warm loaves of bread! We had our coffee and pains au chocolat and the rest of the day was all about lounging, playing in the pool, eating and more lounging. Jul 14, 2011 - Arrival in Cote d'Azur

We arrived in Nice (via JFK and Barcelona) this morning about 10:30 - it is sunny and dry, quite the opposite to what we experienced the night before we left home! Despite having made a rental car reservation and being all paid up, it still took us 30 minutes to get the paperwork done and another 30 minutes to take the inter-terminal bus and walk to the car. We ended up getting a Ford Focus and not an Opal Astra, so not as ‘European’ as I thought but a good little car with tons of trunk space for the luggage when the rest of the gang...
