Our friends Roger and Sylvia Wiegand (recently retired UNL math professors) visited Aix this past weekend. Their daughter Andrea spent two years working here a few years ago, and they love to come back here to visit. Both are expert climbers and there is plenty of scenic and challenging rock climbs in Provence. On Friday, Roger and Sylvia took us on a hike on Mont Sainte Victoire. It was a beautiful day, although on the hot side. Alas, we (meaning our family) did not make the summit, but Tom and Janna have vowed to come back and try again...

Le Mais Huskers

Apr 6, 2011 - Hiking with my Aunt

My's aunt from Germany is visiting for a few days. We headed up past Katie's riding classes, and went for a hike. It turned out to be a bit longer than we expected. Heile is 77 years old. We walked 6.5km in just over two hours. Up and down over 330m in elevation changes. Wow, Jen and I were both impressed by her stamina! After a nice coffee and dessert at the cafe near where we started our hike, we made it back in time to collect Katie from her riding at the foot of Mont St. Victoire.
