Sep 7, 2007 - Serious wine tasting day - Chateauneuf du Pape and Cotes de Rhone wines

Drove to Chateauneuf du Pape and visited a very interesting tasting room named the "Cave du Verger des Papes", literally the inside of a cave, but on the very top of the ruins of a castle. After a fine tasting, we had a panoramic lunch at the outdoor restaurant next door with great views of the Rhone Valley below. Our next stop was the nice town of Orange where we went to see the well known Roman amphitheater with its acoustic wall.
