Moved to Montreuil belay to see another chateau, a renaissance one this time, Angers was medaeval. Renaissance chateaus are what we would instantly recognise as a chateau with the pointy conical roof to each tower. Also hoping to visit a Troglodyte village, these are semi-underground villages constructed by the miners of the Tufa stone used to build chateaus, they excavated themselves houses while mining the stone. Most are only just underground and have open air gardens and back yards.
