Dec 13, 2004 - Toulouse, France

We got to toulouse. We checked into a very very scanky hotel across from the train station(very big mistake). We went to check the train schedule for the next day and the train people basically told us to leave(after yelling at us in french). We then were laughed at by another person in line(jerk). We hated Toulouse(and we are not hate people). We were very happy to leave Toulouse! The windows in our hotel had two sets of doors and a roll-up garage door type thing(for riots?) instead of curtains. But the bathroom would have been cool if it...

Dec 5, 2004 - Lourdes, France

This place is famous for a peasant girl that said she saw visions of Mary. That was back in 1854. People come from all over the world to bath and drink the water that comes from a spring. The pope has been there twice. It is a huge complex of churches and buildings. There is supposed to been many mircles happened here. Saw none but the fact that I got out with my money, being as there are a lot of pickpockets there. I drank the water and the next day I got sick. Maybe because I am not Catholic. Just kidding!

Han has filled her whole memory card (256MB) in St Cirq already! Our little house is fabulous, perched right on the edge of a 240m cliff above the Lot river with a spectacular view from every window. It has embroidered linen sheets, a great kitchen, games, books...

Oct 21, 2004 - Avignon and Lourdes

After a rainy stay in Nice we had a good amount of driving to do before we found (remarkably easily) our campsite on an island in the river Rhone, we were in Avignon at the heart of Provence. One of a hand full of towns left in France that are still enclosed by the medieval walls, we found Avignon to be a cute little city with a provincial feel. The people were extremely friendly and the food was outstanding. Our favourite French red wine was from Avignon, Chateau Du Pape. In reference to the time when the popes resided in Avignon, the wine...
