So the challenge has seriously started now and we have reached the Subera hut at 1,500m where we are camping wild tonight. So why has the challenge only just seriously started? For the past few days since we met at Heathrow there have been numerous discussions about what kit we would have to carry ourselves here to Subera hut, and then what we will have to carry on ourselves into Spain (all being well). Jul 28, 2015 - On the road again...
So it begins, another trip starts and if first appearances are to be believed then it will be an emotional journey into Spain. This morning was relatively relaxed as after breakfast, and it is only here that a continental breakfast really makes sense, we took a walk down to the Chemin de la Liberte museum which provided some interesting background to the trip (it may have been more useful if my schoolboy French meant that I understood more than 1 word out of 4 though). So here we are again on the fun bit of these journals, the actual travelling. We arrived here in Saint Girons mid-afternoon after a long days travelling (and I can feel it trying to catch up with me). I left home at 11pm on Sunday, arriving at Heathrow at 4am and then slowly meeting others in the group as they arrived (identifying other each by the bright pink Discover Adventure luggage tags on our bags. Jul 6, 2009 - Lourdes to St Girons - Mon
Monday July 6th What a day its been -- Raining ALL day I drove up the Mountain above the cloud and down the other side back into the rain. - Col dáspin and then the Peyessourde down So I decided to head further east towards the Med. -- I have uploaded my lourdes photos but the videos are there on the Memory stick but I can't get them into teh computer -- I'll just take photos from now and see David when I get back -- You will eventually see the video in Fliker or something.
